MOTORCYCLE UNIT

The Quincy Police Department has had motorcycle officers in the past and is now again utilizing motorcycle patrol units to address traffic problems and violations throughout the city.  Motorcycles are more adaptable to traffic enforcement as they have the capability of getting through traffic and other areas where a squad car cannot.

The Quincy Police Department has two motor cycle officers, Officer Adam Gibson and Officer Cathy Martin.  Officer Martin  is the first female motorcycle officer for the department. Both officers are avid riders, each having their own Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Below is a clip video of Officer Cathy Martin giving a demonstration of her riding skills to a group of citizens.  Officer Martin started her demonstration by making a large figure eight and continued to tighten it up as she went along getting to the point where the turns were so tight that the foot pads were dragging the ground.
