OPERATIONS SECTION

(PATROL)

The Quincy Police Department's Operational Division consists of; Two -Twelve Hour Patrol Shifts with two squads per shift, a Motorcycle Unit, a Street Crimes Unit, a Canine Unit, a Criminal Investigative Unit, a Juvenile Investigative Unit, an Elder Service Officer, a Housing Authority Officer, a ProAct Unit, a Crime Stoppers Unit, and an Evidence Unit.

 

The department also has officers working with the multi-jurisdictional drug task force for West Central Illinois.  Various members from some of the above positions are also Bicycle Patrol Officers, Emergency Response Team Unit members and in-house departmental instructors.

 

Patrol Shifts work from 6:00am to 6:00pm and from 6:00pm to 6:00 am.  Each shift has one Lieutenant and four Sergeants with two Sergeants assigned to each squad.
