TRAINING COORDINATOR

&

Assistant Accreditation Manager

Our department's training coordinator is also our assistant accreditation manager for CALEA and works equally between the two responsibilities.  The training coordinator seeks out, schedules and co-ordinates all departmental training whether it be conducted in-house by our own instructors, within the city with other area or out of area trainers as well as training in other cities and/or states.  He maintains contacts with various departments and training facilities so that he can provide information to the department on the latest available training.  A new responsibility that the training coordinator has is scheduling training and working out the logistics for classes and training being held at the Quincy Regional Training Facility for Public Safety located on North of Seminary Road on 18th Street in Quincy.

He also maintains all training records for all departmental employees and ensures that those officers or employees who are certified as in-house trainers maintain their certifications.

As the assistant accreditation manager he is responsible for maintaining the departments CALEA files while ensuring that the department is meeting all required standards set forth by CALEA for our department.  This also means having to attend meetings of IPAC, the Illinois CALEA group, which are held one day a month in the Chicago area and the National CALEA convention where through his attendance at these meetings he develops and maintains contact with those involved in the accreditation process and thus providing our department with the most up to date information on the CALEA process as it reflects on our department.

For more information on CALEA and our department visit the CALEA page in this web site.
